The decision you are actually facing

Every confident answer matches what the seller sells.

You are about to commit several thousand dollars a month, for six to twelve months, to fix a problem nobody has actually located. Is it the website? The ads? The follow-up? The reviews? Ask an SEO shop and the answer is SEO. Ask an ads agency and the answer is ads. The diagnosis keeps changing with the seller, which tells you it was never a diagnosis.

Owners usually resolve this one of three ways. They guess, and pay for the guess monthly. They accept a free audit, and sit through a sales pitch wearing a lab coat. Or they pay someone whose only job on the engagement is to be right.

We built the diagnostic because the third option barely exists in this industry. A doctor who prescribes without examining you loses the license. In marketing, it is the standard sales process.

We will not take your retainer until we can show you, in writing, where your revenue leaks and what fixing it is worth.

Why the diagnostic costs money

A free audit answers to the seller's pipeline. A paid one answers to you.

Incentives decide what a report finds. When the audit is a marketing cost, its job is to produce reasons to buy. When you pay for the examination, its job is to be correct. That is the entire difference, and it is worth $1,000.

The free audit

A pitch with a cover page

  • Generated in minutes, mostly by software
  • Findings sorted by what the seller happens to sell
  • Every problem it finds costs you a retainer to fix
  • Ends the same way every time: hire us
  • Costs nothing, and is priced correctly
The $1,000 diagnostic

An examination with a verdict

  • Senior hours spent on your specific market, by hand
  • Findings ranked by revenue impact, not by our menu
  • Allowed to conclude that parts of your setup already work
  • Ends with a priority order you keep, whoever executes it
  • Credited in full to month one, so choosing us makes it free
What gets examined

Four areas. One external pass. No passwords required.

The whole examination runs from where your buyers stand: outside. We look at your market the way a customer, a competitor and a search engine look at it, and we put numbers on what we find.

01

Website and technical health

Whether your site can be found, loads fast enough to keep a visitor, and gives them a reason to call.

  • Speed, structure and indexation on the pages that matter
  • Conversion paths: what a visitor must do to become a lead
  • What the site says versus what your best jobs need it to say
02

Content versus buyer demand

What your buyers actually search at every stage, and which of those searches you show up for.

  • The searches with money behind them in your service area
  • Where you appear, where you are absent, who fills the gap
  • The missing pages ranked by buyer intent, not by volume
03

Local position

How you rank across your real service radius, and who is taking the calls you are not getting.

  • Google Business Profile condition and review signals versus the market
  • A ranking map across your service radius, not just your zip code
  • The three to five competitors actually winning your searches, named
04

Paid landscape

Who is buying attention in your market, what it likely costs, and what that means for you.

  • Who is running ads and what they are saying, from platform transparency data
  • Projected ranges for cost per lead and cost per acquisition in your market
  • Expected appointment conversion and close ratios. Ranges, never guarantees

We do not ask for your analytics, your ad accounts or your search console. That is deliberate, and there is a section below on why.

The report

Every finding rolls up to three questions.

The report is not a data dump. Each of the four examination areas feeds three answers, written in owner language, defended line by line in the findings meeting.

01

Where do you stand?

A plain reading of your visibility, your conversion posture and your reputation, with the numbers that back it. No grades, no scores out of 100. What is true, and what it costs you.

02

How do you compare?

You, side by side with the named competitors currently winning the searches you want. Where they beat you, where you beat them, and which gaps are actually worth closing.

03

What do you fix first?

A priority order ranked by buyer intent and search demand. The sequence protects your budget: the leak closest to revenue gets fixed before anything that is merely interesting.

The economics

Both outcomes are a win. That is the design.

The diagnostic is built into every FirstOnTheMap program, because we will not build without it. Buying it standalone exists for one reason: some owners want the map before they choose a guide.

Join any program afterwards and the full $1,000 comes off your first month, so you never pay for diagnosis twice. Decide not to join and you still own the sharpest written account of your market you have had, with a priority order any competent operator can execute.

There is no version of this where you paid $1,000 for a sales pitch. The findings are written before any program conversation happens.

If you join a program
Marketing Diagnostic $1,000
Credit applied to month one −$1,000
Net cost of the diagnosis $0

Applies to every program: Foundation, Momentum, Authority and Legacy. Compare the four programs.

What the diagnostic is not.

A $1,000 engagement should have edges you can see. These are them.

  • It is not an execution playbook

The report tells you what is broken, what it costs you and what to fix first. It does not contain build specifications, campaign structures or copy. That work happens inside a program, or inside whoever you hire to execute.

  • It is not an account audit

We never ask for access to your analytics, search console or ad accounts. The diagnostic is an examination of your market from the outside, because that is where your buyers are. Internal data gets wired up in month one of a program, after you have chosen us.

  • It is not a disguised sales pitch

The findings are written before any program discussion. If the honest conclusion is that your current setup mostly works, the report says so, and the recommendation gets smaller, not bigger. We have put that in writing more than once.

How it runs, start to finish

From first call to your decision.

Four steps, in a fixed order. The order is the product.

01

Discovery call

We establish fit in both directions. If the diagnostic makes sense, we confirm scope and timeline on the call. If it does not, we say so and part as friends.

02

The examination

We run the four-area pass on your market: website, content versus demand, local position, paid landscape. No access to your accounts is needed or requested.

03

The findings meeting

You get the written report and a live walkthrough. Where you stand, how you compare, what to fix first, and the reasoning behind every ranking. Ask anything.

04

Your decision

Three doors, all open. Join a program with the $1,000 credited to month one. Execute the priorities with your own team. Or hand the report to another provider. It is yours.

Straight answers

What owners ask before they buy it.

Why would I pay $1,000 when other agencies audit for free?
Because a free audit is priced correctly. It is generated in minutes, sorted by what the seller wants to sell, and it ends the same way every time: hire us. The diagnostic takes real hours from senior people on your specific market, and because you paid for it, its only job is to be right. If you then choose a FirstOnTheMap program, the full $1,000 comes off month one, so being diagnosed by us ends up costing nothing.
What does it include that a free audit does not?
Free audits are software scores. The diagnostic is a manual, four-area examination: your website's technical health and conversion paths, your content held against what buyers in your area actually search, your local position including a ranking map across your service radius and the three to five named competitors winning your searches, and the paid landscape built from platform transparency data with projected cost ranges. It ends in a priority order, not a score.
How exactly does the $1,000 credit work?
You pay $1,000 for the diagnostic. If you enroll in any program, Foundation, Momentum, Authority or Legacy, your first month's invoice is reduced by $1,000. Every program already includes the diagnostic phase, so the credit exists to make sure nobody ever pays for diagnosis twice.
Why do you not connect to my analytics and ad accounts?
By design. The diagnostic examines your market from where your buyers stand, which is outside your accounts. Your position against competitors, your visibility across your radius and the paid landscape are all external facts, and they are the facts most agencies never look at. It also means you are not handing account access to a vendor you have not hired yet. Internal data gets connected in month one of a program, when we wire tracking properly.
Will it tell me which program I should choose?
Yes. The findings map directly to a recommendation, with the reasoning shown. Sometimes that recommendation is a smaller program than the owner walked in expecting, because the leak turned out to be follow-up rather than acquisition. The recommendation follows the findings, never the other way around.
Can I take the report to another provider, or run it myself?
Yes. The report is written to be executable by any competent operator or agency, with findings and priorities stated plainly rather than wrapped in our own service names. It is your document. We would rather you fix the leaks with someone else than not fix them at all.
Clarity before commitment

Know what is broken before you pay anyone to fix it.

Book a discovery call. If the diagnostic makes sense for your situation, we schedule it on that call. If it does not, you will hear that instead.
